she was sleeping all day, i thought nothing of it except she usually doesnt sleep away summer days that much

untill my brother picked her up to snuggle w her, and she began to complain loudly

we quickly noticed her right front paw wasnt supporting her, and she even hissed when touching it. shes VERY patient, and seems to just suffer through whatever happened to her quietly. we called the vet, and he recommended we come by tomorrow during work hours if it seems like she can wait, cus the price differences are enormous, and both me and my brother are broke

we cannot afford this kind of stuff, we took the cat from a previous neighbor who got it despite our protests. usually our dad/his wife has promised to help us out financially w anything to do w the cat, but theyre away for vacations.

so... we're going tomorrow, and i have locked her inside, and took her litter box out again. shes not eating, not even cat candies, but has moved around a little. now shes on top of a desk-shelf thing i got, resting. she lets us both both feel her painful paw, and also feel if she hurts from any other places, but it seems to be just that one leg. she steps ON it, but she clearly avoids putting too much weight on it.

i hope this was some accident, if some a**hole is out there kicking cats.. it doesnt seem like a car accident, shes not messy or bloody or broken up or anything. only a front paw

:(

Injury topic

Sometimes cats misstep. Or there may be a sliver. Best to get kitty checked.

Poor little one. Cats are usually very pain tolerant, but this is not a good thing.

Animals are so vulnerable. :(

Ohh dear :( poor critter.

Would there possibly be some kind of cat rescue in the area which might by some stroke of good fortune be able to help you with costs? It's a wild hair idea, but you never know.

Any chance of finding a vet who would take payments along as you can?

There is a Yahoo Group HANDICATS2 primarily for handicapped cats but the people on there know a lot of helpful places.

Us and ours, Smokey Jo, Mighty Mo, and Grumman the lame Wondercat, send ya wishes for healing. And ask God to help you out.

norway has almost no animal-rescue-anything despite all our wildlife. its frustrating. i hope i never come across something wild and hurt, like a badger or a fox, cus people go for solution 1/1: get cops to shoot it.
we're so modern in some aspects, and such hillbillies on others :(

thanx everyone, ill update tomorrow.
shes resting now. i shut the window, and she seems to "get" it. ive only locked her inside the house a few times before, and those were special cases.

I hope the injury turns out to be minor and inexpensive at the vet. Keep us posted. Meanwhile, perhaps some thick towels or blankets on the surfaces your cat walks around on would make for less discomfort.

yeah, shes staying on the desk so far, i cleared some space, and gave her a couple of shirts to lay on. i dunno if she wont go back to the basket or if its too bothersome for her, but ill leave her allone unless she complains.
im still waiting for her to go eat, or use her litter box. ill watch for signs of attempts
