shes gotten cat-mauled a bit under her front leg. at least it wasnt a dog, car or a person. she has a cut, thats infected, and thats why her whole arm was hurting, and why she was so sapped of energy.

shes gotten a little painkiller shot from the vet, and weve gotten 8 days of antibiotics to give her. shes under the bed now, resting from the trauma it has been to visit the evil evil veterinarian :D

The cat's *phew* meow topic

Great. :D She will hide under the bed until the memory of the evil vet trauma dissipates.

Too much sensory load for kitty. :o

Great. Give my virtual "get well soon" card to her. I hope you manage to give her the pills. That can be hard. Been there, done that.

srtresue, indeed + the car ride. she really relaxed at the vets as long as me and my brother held on to her, we didnt even have to hold her hard or anything, she quit fighting. shes used to handling, so she knows when we handle her, it usually turns out well :D

xalepax, shes not eating yet, she probably will when ready. im more worried about the litter box. she has used it tons before, but hasnt used it at all since yesterday. she pooped on the way to the vets :I
she has to stay inside while she is still a bit flimsy

oddfinn, its a liquid, but both work fine. shes used to be handled, and she usually tolerates small ammounts of torment quite well :D

I'm glad to hear it all worked out. Good luck with the antibiotic treatment. I have to give one of my cats BP meds every day, and hide the crushed pill in very tasty canned food. He's not entirely fooled, but he eats enough of the mixture to keep his BP under control.

heh, we give her a "worm-pill" 4 times a year. she knows it allready, despite the few times, but this is how i do it:

i stuff my fingers into her mouth, that is between her molars. she simply wont chomp down on me, so w my fingers there, her whole jaw is mine, and i just stuff the pill down her throat :D
i dont have to push it far, just right down her tongue, and she will swallow by reflex.
when its done, she licks her lips (it tastes bad) and hops off my lap to go do something less traumatizing :D

I'm glad kitty is okay! No animal should suffer. My little bunny is in the vet at the moment because she is anorexic which can kill a rabbit. The vets are force feeding her until she starts eating normally again. I'm very worried about her.
