I know I've definitely lost mine, it's been gone for years. I know I probably need a lot of help but am jobless and don't have health insurance. What's funny is, White Castle has this new ad campaign where they joke that the only real therapy you need is their food, and funny enough, going to white castle eating their food does temporarily lift my spirits! But now sadly, I can't even afford that haha. But of course the downfall of going to white castle so often is a physical health issue. I've gained a lot of weight. Can't put all of that on White Castle but on fast food in general and lack of exercise.
I think it's possible to reclaim your life. And I'm not saying it's impossible to do it on your own, but I think it's a better approach to seek out help. I need to get my bearings in my own life, and I have put up many many walls and have a desire to cut off everyone and everything. I am conscious of this, yet clueless on what to do about it. (Well not completely clueless, just sort of standing still, also battling the "I don't care anymore" sentiment).
This is more of a do as a say and not as I do b/c I am a bad example, but I would suggest to focus on one thing like getting in shape (if you are already in shape then that's great!). Try walking/jogging/running either in your neighborhood or on a local track or a gym/club. Maybe try 1 thing new, take a new class, etc. Just to try something out. You still may not find what you are looking for, but you are moving and moving forward. And if you can get your physical body in peak condition, this can also benefit the mind. Make you more lucid in your thoughts and more positive, which can help to remove some (but probably not all) of the darkness. I don't think it can just be 1 thing, I think it almost has to be a multi-prong "attack." And physical fitness probably should be 1 of those prongs.
The path of least resistance tends to be downhill. I am living proof of this.
