This morning, a place selling discount holiday vouchers called me with an offer to buy some vouchers. I have used similar vouchers before and enjoyed the holiday, so I decided to get some. To do so, I had to deposit money into their bank account- today. This was the first difficulty; having to do something that I hadn't had time to plan for. I left the house without breakfast because I didn't feel like (couldn't handle) the stress of dealing with it.

The next difficulty was that the bank (St George) they used had a branch near me, but it didn't handle cash- only cheques and money orders. Another unexpected factor. They had said that I could go to another bank (National) and explain that I was depositing into a St George account, but I tried that and had difficulty with the National Bank. (Their deposit slips were different from the ones at my bank, and the fact that it was anotherr bank would have caused issues).

By this point, I was completely overwhelmed and confused, and I ended up having to disappear into the shopping centre toilets so that I wouldn't melt down in front of everyone in the shopping centre (my meltdowns are silent, so if noone sees them, noone knows they're happening). I spent a good 10-15 minutes there crying and trying to calm down, before I went to the post office to get a money order. I got it, went back to the (St George) bank, and found that they'd misspelled the company name. I had to go back and talk to people (which is difficult enough when I'm not stressed) to get it sorted out.

Something that should have been easy, was a 2 hour ordeal. Being an adult is really confusing and difficult, and I have noone to explain things to me, because everyone thinks that because I'm intelligent and (when I can talk) articulate, that "basic" things shouldn't be confusing. Even if there was anyone to help me with basic things, I don't know the right questions to ask or how to word them.

Yeah.... I recall one time going to a TacoBell drive thru to get some food for my family....... they got the order all wrong and I had to go back. When I got there, they acted like it was somehow my problem. I got upset and made them give me back my money. I then went to a Wendy's and got some take out..... got home and found that the order was all wrong..... AGAIN!! I had to go back, they acted like it was all my problem again (pretty common for this to happen to most people, I think....). I wanted my money back so that I could go some place else. Try number 3!! ! Arby's..... They of course screwed up the order (I was ordering for 5 people..... I think that was the real problem). Long story longer..... I had a freaky meltdown right at the counter of the Arby's restaurant.

At least you knew it was coming...... and you took shelter!

Hang in there! We all have our bad days. The trick is to have more good ones than bad ones!

That sounds like what happens to me when I go out. Everything can become so complicated and so many unexpected things. Yesterday I tried going to the mall. Lets just say it was a pretty messed up day... :?

One thing that did happen (was embarrassing but not the real messed up thing): I went to go up some escalators and because I am not good with common sense I usually look to where others are going and follow them.

Anyway I saw the left escalator first and I saw someone going down it so I assumed the right one was up. I started walking up the right escalator but it was going down. I got off and looked at it and felt completely confused. Then I saw the person going down the other escalator was a boy of about 11, and i realised he was walking down an up escalator.

So I went to get on the escalator but he had at this point reached the bottom and was standing, blocking it. So now I found the correct escalator but couldnt get on it.

I felt really embarrassed because the boys mother had watched me go up the down escalator. I snarled at the boy "Excuse me" and he got out of the way. But I felt like such a dick... and it seems the world is made up of such craziness and mishaps.

Update: the holiday vouchers arrived a couple of days after I wrote this topic, so the bank transfer was successful, despite it being a nightmare to do.
Thanks to those who replied.
