I don't think I technically have an eating disorder but I've always had an unhealthy relationship with food. Sometimes I'll go for days eating barely anything at all, not even feeling hungry. Other times I'll eat literally non-stop all day and never feel full.

I have suffered a ED since my late teens and then I was pregnant so it went away and then it it starting to come back. I am not hungry as much so my weight was starting to go up and I started to cut back on food again. I am trying to stay away from candy again and try and keep my new eating habit I had during my pregnancy. Fruit very healthy.

Hi,SamwiseGamgee,
never had that kind of pattern, but it doesn't sound good for your body either...

Hi Spokane_Girl, sounds similar to me and my pregnancy, only difference is Im 41 and my son is 4 1/2...... My ED has worsened since I had to leave my toxic marrage, Im just not coping at all.

Miyah, its anorexia.

I used to have atypical anorexia.
Was hospitalized twice for it (voluntarily).
They never fixed me, i fixed myself by moving out of state, the change really helped matters.
It was never about being fat, not eating was more so like a drug, a way to vent so to speak.
A way to deal with depression and other crap going on.
Moving got me out of the depression.
I was an "atypical" one as i hardly ate, yet when i did i would hit up Wendy's or other fast food for a Jr Bacon, etc.
They couldn't classify me.
I went skinny dipping with friends one time and looking at the pictures i realized i looked like a skeleton and it was disgusting.

My mind is that of an anorexic.
My body, sadly, is not anymore, due to a combination of hypothyroidism and hormone issues, but by God, I am fighting to get back to a safe weight.
ED issues have haunted me for 21 years now. Such is life.

Meow333,wow atypical anorexia, glad you were able to fix it up.
same as me as far as the weight thing, its more about control and depression. I restrict alot for control.

Graelwyn, I don't quite get it, are you glad your body is not anorexic anymore?? are you over weight and now fighting to get back to an anorexic weight or a medically safe weight?? 21 years is a long time to be haunted by ED issues.

I am a binge eater. I know that is a sort of eating disorder, compulsive eating. Eating is the first place I will turn if stressed. I am also a chocolate addict, lol. I am trying hard to change these behaviours.

I've been diagnosed with ED-NOS in the past, or Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified. I've had all sorts of problems with dysfunctional eating habits, restricting my food intake enough to lose a significant amount of weight, and stop menstruating for months at a time, and I've also done quite a bit of binge eating. Lucky for me, I'm a small person by nature, my body chemistry has preventing me from ever truly becoming overweight, but my weight has gotten to the high end of the healthy range. These days, I'm pretty much in the middle of my normal range for weight, but my weight has fluctuated quite a bit over the years. These days, I'm in a better place with my eating than I've been in the past, but my eating habits are still pretty dysfunctional, and I'm still not happy with my body.
I wonder is eating disorders are significantly more common among people on the spectrum, than among the neurotypical population.

I've suffered from ED issues in the past and was dx'ed with anorexia in 2005. I am now entirely physically recovered and mostly recovered mentally, but I suspect some of those thoughts are never going to go away.

I am what the medical experts would consider a perfectly normal weight, but by my standards, it is a horrendous weight considering the years and years I spent at a much lower weight.

I am fighting to get to the lower end of my weight range, but it seems that due to my age, and an underactive thyroid, it takes extreme exercise and undereating to do that.

I am 5'10 (1 metre 76) and currently 147ibs, and aiming to get back to 130 or so. At my lowest I was 70 Ibs and the same height, but that was at 18.
This is the most I have ever been and to be honest, it is distressing and makes me feel weak, lazy and uncontrolled, even though I don't even eat a normal diet right now. It isnt a physical appearance thing with me, so much as a control issue and a dislike of being stuck in a heavy body.

I don't imagine I will ever be 'normal' about weight and food after so many years of obsessing.
