My brother's coping suggestion (humor)
Page 1 of 1 [ 3 posts ]
My brother just now honestly suggested that, while I'm experiencing extreme frustration with my AS and also a depressive episode, I should go walking in the mall.
Ya, there ya go! What I really need is a cacophonous crowd of clumsy people to try and wade through.
He must've thought it would cause a "meltup" or something.

I tend to walk alone in 'crowded' placed - in my case in Chicago's central business district. I don't get anxiety from crowds and in fact it can be cool for me. I would get anxious inside suburban malls but that's because I think everyone is looking at me or my gait is 'weird' - but I stabilize that and adjust quicker than others probably. Also looking at the public transport & buildings of the city could work and make you feel better.
But you are a different person.
Go to an arcade or something to have fun. I'm sure you remember them. They've gotten better over the years
EDIT: you live in dallas. this seems like a good place to walk around alone
also see
water and lights. go there

LOL!! ! I understand why he's saying that, most people say when you're depressed that you shouldn't isolate yourself. BUT that is a bit of an overkill. The only thing worse for me would be a dance club....stone cold sober.
