well i dont know if i have a problem or not.(possible infection)

ok heres what happened.

for the past 6 months ive been going to the gym/swimming pool.

on thursday i get out of the gym as usual and go swimming for a bit, after swimming i relaxed in the jacuzzi and sauna.

on friday these spotty type things (kinda like spots but with no yellow stuff inside (cant think of correct term-very tired)

my question is can i get an infection from these places since there were other people in at the same time as me?

help greatly appreciated

If you're thinking HPV I've read that they can be transmitted by a towel and that the strain that causes the warts are not associated with cervical cancer. I'd research it, don't take my word for it.

By spotty things, you mean a red bumpy rash? Since you said there's no yellow, I'm assuming that's what you mean.

It's possible to catch an infection from just about anywhere. It could also be some sort of allergic reaction from a new chemical the pool or sauna may have used. If there is no heat, no discolouration beyond the red, then it's quite likely that it's not an infection, but some sort of irritant. Try putting some cortisone cream, like Cortizone 10 on it. If it clears up, it's NOT an infection. If it doesn't, it is.

it may possibly be a verruca - swimming pools are a common sharing ground for these.

Do you mean a cold sore? There's a prescription cream called Abreva, but usually they just clear up on their own in a few days. Don't kiss anyone or share drinks until they do, though, because they're contagious.

If the strange feeling is a 'tingling' sensation it may be herpes simplex type 1; that's just your common or garden cold sore. There's no cure at the moment for this virus, but it's very common and you shouldn't feel ashamed of it. Just, as another pschristmas said, don't kiss anyone when the sore is present.

If it is a cold sore, it is unlikely that you caught it from the swimming pool itself; it tends to be a person-to-person spread. If you are worried at all, just go to your local family planning clinic and ask for an STI screen.

Hey, didn't mean to scare you! You can catch coldsores if you've only kissed someone; it might even be a friendly kiss to a relative. They can reactivate years after the initial infection, especially under stress.

it's definitely treatable. A lot of people do not have any further outbreaks after their initial one.

The twitching and insomnia could just be because you are worried about the bumps. You'll be fine; don't worry :)

If it helps you remember, write a list of everything you want checked out and bring it with you. Since you have to pay 50e to see a GP in Ireland, you may as well get your money's worth :P

....didnt even examine me.

seizure-like symptoms keep happening. still throwing up,still got pain in my head. limbs and head still twitching.

good thing is my spots on my lips are gone, and im sleeping better thanks to the pills.

but im worried about the seizure etc. doctors just rush you out of their office :(
