I was discussing autism with mum yesterday, and she just randomly blurts out, 'oh, yea, they *they being all the shrinks my dad drug me too* said you have autism. But not just autism, some weird named form." Turns out she was talking about AS.

I don't get why she couldn't tell me this before, I mean, she tells me pretty much everything else. By the time I was old enough to comprehend AS, she ought to have noticed that pretending I'm normal isn't going to make it a reality. I'm different than my sister, not better, not worse, just different.

I guess maybe she still holds on to the idea that I can be 'fixed', cause I remember the gluten free diet, I remember taking all these little homeopathic drug things... none of it helped, cept the homeopathic things just made me sleep constantly. I don't remember much of that year.

Makes me think that she thinks I'm somehow not good enough for her, and trust me, I get enough of that from my dad. But also, I guess I was right in my self-DX, and out there somewhere I have an offcial DX just floating about. Prolly worthless, cause half of those shrinks don't practice anymore, and I have no record of my times spent with them.

I guess I'm just a little hurt cause mum can accept me as odd, but she caint accept me as odd because _____.

I can't trust my parents either. They're just scared if you're not normal since it would make them look bad for having a abnormal child.
