It is my firm belief that I suffer from Pure O OCD, and recently I've been having some very disturbing and troubling thoughts, and I'm not sure but at times it might actually be me doing it. The thought of me doing it makes me feel like I've let myself down. How could I go about forgiving myself?

They attach themselves to fragile subjects and subjects that, if you are against them, it's dreadful kind of thing... it does almost evil things, and I hope it's not me... because at times I'm convinced it might be, especially as of recent times.

I need help.

For those of you who don't know, Pure O is a condition where intrusive thoughts pop into your head without you being able to control it... they're thoughts that bother you, disturb you... thoughts you wouldn't want to think.

Oh dear. I'm sorry. Once on the radio I heard someone talk about that and how they learned to ignore the voices or thoughts. They didn't mention anything that goes with the thoughts like the anxiety.
Are you on medication? Have you given it long enough to work? Do you have decent sleep hygiene?

I wish you well.

Thanks lelia :) Well now that you mention it I used to take prozac but I decided to come off it as of a couple of months ago or so... as for sleep - I tend to become addicted to computer games at night and that can ruin the next day, but today I'm doing much better in that department.

Hello Tollorin.
Yes Pure O can be very difficult to put up with and highly persuasive. Self help books may help you out to a great degree, and good sleep routines of course, as well as daily exercise might blunt the sharpness of the pain this condition can cause. About being angsty, well thoughts carry emotions with them which can make the whole thing feel even more confusing.
I hope you'll be alright friend. :)

I have it, and I've been trying to work through the episodes when they happen. It's scary as hell, I can't believe what hideous things pop into my mind out of the blue, and I've been on meds for years. I know my past has contributed alot to it, abuse, etc. I'm always curious if anyone who had a "normal life" has them. :?
