Just what the title says: Does anyone else here absolutely LOATHE unexpected events as much as me, even if you do expect it?

It may be because most out-of-the-blue events are not for the good (at least for me, they're not), but anytime something unexpected happens (IE: I'm unable to attend classes, I can't go to places that I was looking forward to going to for weeks), I'm always left either arguing with somebody, or I'm both a mixture of depressed and boiling rage. :(

I'm just sick of making plans of all sorts, only to have them blow up in my face. It's one of the worst feelings in the world, in my opinion.

Yes, I loathe change and the unexpected. But that doesn't stop them happening, though. Sometimes, it helps to have a back up plan, or to decide in advance that if something goes wrong, that I won't allow myself to be too upset. Because, more than the unexpected, I hate the way I feel if I allow myself to become to emotional.

My brother in law was supposed to come over so we drive all the way to his place to get him and instead he doesn't come and he wants to stay and pick a computer out over there than over here. i got so stressed out and felt chaotic inside because he did the abrupt change of plan. It turned out he was drunk when he talked on the phone, so he had no memory of what he said.

I do good with change but this time I lost it and I regressed back to my old self. Sometimes I slip back to my old traits.

Yep, I do. I like predictability. I've gotten better at coping with change of plans, but that doesn't mean I'm not bothered.

Yes, but I do not have any emotion about it.
If by coincidence, where I would have previously gone somewhere but that got cancelled, I am happy.
I am happy when nothing happens, I strive for a sort of absolute sameness.

I have a really hard time with anything unexpected or unplanned too. I'll tell you my solution, and you can take it or leave it.

I'm a visual thinker. When I think about my day, I see a pathway in my head with each place I'm going to person I'm seeing as a point along the way. Instead of thinking of points, I've taught myself to think of forks in the road. For example, a fork my include "go out to eat" OR "eat at home." That way, if the plans fall through, I can still stay on the pathway in my mind and feel comfortable.

I also don't like the unexpected.

I hate it when my plans are screwed up because of other peoples poor planning.

eg. I have to go take a document to court and be back by 4pm to do mail.
I leave at 2:30pm like normal and all the other documents are lodged without any problems.
I get to the last court and I am stuck there for an hour purely because the person that prepared the document didn't do it right and waited until the day that the deadline expires to lodge the document.
I mean It wouldn't have been a big deal if they sent the document for me to lodge over earlier, because if it was wrong i could have just taken it back for them to fix and then all would have been good.

I don't like the unexpected much...so much so that I end up reading the endings of books before I even begin. Spoils my reading, but I can't stop doing it. I like monotony. Monotony is safe. I can take on new things if it doesn't distrupt my current "flow" though.

I also cannot tolerate the unexpected. I try to go with it when it happens, but it still messes me all up. I do not like surprises or changes in plans... makes me twitchy and I need recovery time.

Yeah, and I really hate it when I plan to spend the morning resting, due to a hectic day the day before, and the landlord starts drilling and hammering right outside my bedroom window at 9:30 in the morning! :x

What sets me off is when I'm trying to regain control of an unexpected situation and am starting to make headway and then something unrelated and chaotic comes into play to interfere with that regain of control.
