Maybe it was because I got up at 11AM and through off my sleeping pattern but just now at dinner I started crying I told family I'm fine nothings wrong and there defense is no one starts crying FOR NO REASON I said no I'm fine no big deal etc. but they insist WHAT IS THE PROBLEM (even when I say I'm fine etc.) I was curious if others do this at times. :-) Thanks.

I do not like to be consoled, so I always tell people I am fine when I cry (doesn't happen often, I tend to suppress my feelings when in the company of others). Another potential reason for saying I am fine is sometimes I don't have the words to explain why I am crying.

No because I'm clearly not fine.

I do.. If I'm upset enough to start crying in front of another person, I'm far too upset to be able to explain it to them.

Yes.
I couldn't explain if I wanted to, which I typically don't.

When the person in question can SEE you crying, it's rather hard to deny. But as for hiding emotions and intentions and whatever, yeah.

Crying is a manifestation of some kind of pain, and I can be in pain and even crying and still truthfully say I am fine.

Personally if i am crying I am not fine at all. Do you just burst into tears without knowing what made you do it? Or are you just not able to articulate what is bothering you?

I don't think anyone ever cries for no reason, but it doesn't always have to be for one single, coherent reason either. It could be lots of little things built up over days, from bottled up stress to lack of sleep, which are hard to explain.

As for telling people I'm fine, I generally do that no matter what. I've always coped best in isolation.

You said it perfectly, this is how I feel as well.

I used to do that, but I don't anymore, I just tell it like it is, now.
