SO confused!! !!
Maybe when I get back into College I'll find a field and go WOW I want to study X but as it stands now I'm so confused!! ! Yall have heard of my Psychology interest but I'm confused if it WAS an interest or as another poster said I was just obsessed with the teacher. I honestly loved doing the research and as an Aspie Psychology was all I talked about I came home did the research papers and REALLY got obsessed and into it. My parents as stated before don't want me studying Psychology but the confusing part is I KNOW it's more than writing basic stupid papers and it later grows to having to write a Masters Thesis and for PhD the dissertation. I asked to read my Psychology teachers dissertation I question now whether this was correct behavior!! ! but is my interest going to ever grow beyond Oooh neat article I want to study X (things IMO are surely more complicated than what you see on tv/documentaries!! !) I looked into Law that's 4 year undergrad and 4 year Law school and 150-200,000!! ! SHEESH!! !! ! I don't know what I want to do!! !! !! !
If your passion is psychology, go for it. Only thing is w/ psych you'd better be prepared to get at least your master's b/c a bachelor's won't get you a good paying job (or a job at all possibly). (Why my cousin went back to school.) Let your interests lead the path you choose (choose a major that corresponds with your interests & or talents).

I remember looking through university course catalogs and thinking that so many things looked like interesting subjects to study, but I couldn't relate any of it to any kind of job or career. I had no clue what people did in various careers. Looking back, at the age of 42, I can identify subjects that I wish I had studied, because I have more of an idea of possible suitable careers.
If you enjoy working with children, you could be a school psychologist. I'm not sure of everything they do, but I know a lot of it involves observing kids in the classroom and administering tests to see if they qualify for IEPs and that kind of thing, and helping to come up with recommendations to help them. You'd probably be good at that and enjoy it (based on what little I know of you, which is only from your posts).
And since you are on the autistic spectrum, you've be likely to be more able to recognize kids who need help.
