All the time, but don't get mad, get even...

Do something non-violent - humiliate him, trick him, make him look silly. No need for up-front confrontation.

Do people know you have a problem with him? Perhaps it would be a good idea to alert someone else and enlist their help.

I think about that sometimes but I inevitably come to the conclusion that many of the people I get mad at are always bigger or stronger than me and if I hit them, I'd no doubt get the crap kicked outta me.

I don't relish that idea. The "but I'm a girl, you can't hit a girl" thing doesn't work these days so much.

I get that feeling fairly often. Haven't lost my temper unintentionally since childhood, so I don't worry about my ability to control it though. Channelling works best... in ways that you know will benefit you and help solve the problems this person presents... like if you're pissed off at being bullied, driving yourself to learn ways to protect yourself from bullying... or find unrelated situations where it's socially acceptable to release anger, like sports matches or martial arts. Personally I prefer methods that actually solve something, so that you can tell yourself "if I'm still getting anger, I just have to try harder until there's nothing left to be angry about" instead of "this is pointless, why am I bothering, it's not going to work." If you don't know a solution, you can always push yourself towards finding one - researching sociology or psychology or whatever it takes to figure out how to take the person down without a brute-force attack.

Fair enough, neither do I. But a lot of people do, so I figured I'd suggest it. The alternatives that potentially hold my interest would need to go in the mature forum.

I think i have suggested this before,
"know your enemy"
"friends close, enemies closer"

their once was this little b-a-s-t-a-r-d in my life. But he was small.

so i couldn't kick his arse, that would make look bad.

This was my solution.

I had a selection of firecrackers.
2 in particular.

ONE of them had this slow burning fuse. So i took it lit it and counted to three then i threw it and it exploded on target or in mid air. but it didn't hurt anything, when used like that.

it was the other firecracker that held all the potential.

After showing this brat a couple of times that it was safe, i kinda goaded him into doing it also.

What are you chicken, big tough word talker. kind of stuff.

But i gave him the one with the quick burn fuse.

He lit it and counted. One, tw-Bam. Nice big fat welt on his hand and it hurt like hell, i assume.

In your situation, band camp might be difficult for someone witha bad hand. instruments require the use of hands. you have a couple weeks reprieve at the very least. the other benefits are in the air, depends on you.

Remember, i was 13 years old when i did this. And i did it knowing that it wouldn't cause too much harm. the point is, to make a point.

but not too much harm.

And also, i would not condone that type of behavior ffrom my own children. maybe.

don't do anything. engage your indifference.

there is a line in the IChing that says that hatred is dangerous because you form a bond with the hated object.

as long as you don't have to live with him, see him everyday, it will work.

It didn't work for me at work, where I had to see the people every day. It has worked in every other situation I've used it. The best part is that I can't give you details because I have forgotten them and the people involved.

whew, i thought i was going to be rebuked.

Neuroman, you must consider the age of the subject.

i agree with your approach, but i think the ability would come with age and wisdom.

As a teen (which i suspect the subject is) they tend to need a little more instant gratification.

also, the idea of not too much harm should be emphacized.
