Right now, my little brother has his friends over and they're being very obnoxiously loud. I want to punch them. Unfortunately I am 21 and they're 10, so "I should know better" as my parents would put it. So I have a fan going on me and I am listening to Slipknot's Volume 3: The Subliminal Messages. This is the only music that will calm me down for some reason, and the fan noise helps too. I was chatting with my girlfriend earlier and that helped as well.

If I don't stay calm I know I will throw things, always inanimate objects and never actually at people. But like right now I can envision my self throwing my wireless mouse at my door as hard as can.

So basically what do you do to try to keep yourself calm?

How about punching your pillow while it is on your bed, can hardly damage anything and closest thing to a punching bag if you don't have one.

Do you mind going outside ? Doing some bicycle, swimming or whatever other physical exercise could help release the tension.

Could also take a bath and keep your ears in the water also, I find the auditive and tactile isolation from water quite helpful.

Sometimes I go take a walk, but I didn't want to go outside at the time...and I've never really "wanted" to punch my pillow...Like as much as I want to punch something, I don't want to...lol

Noise-blocking headphones and some really great music.

Noise-cancelling headphones, weighted blanket, and my cat.

Know the feeling, but I think that one is a good one to do for it doesn't damage anything so let out the frustration before it might burst and actually do damage.

I used to live with my aunt and when my cousin who is older than me invited his friends for a barbecue or something else I went to the movies or did some other thing (go out with a friend).

Music without words in it, a hot shower, soothing scents, and being outside in a nature environment, even a manicured nature environment, helps me be calm a lot. So does being around a happy, calm animal or kid.

Music FTW.

The one time I couldn't have my music I ended up in a mental hospital. Thanks for that mom
