I Don't Understand

I like stuffed animals so after my grandmas funeral I got some of her stuffed animals. There is a duck and it looks funny so I made a joke to mt uncle about the way the duck looks and he goes "um hum" then I keep talking and he goes "dont make fun of your grandmother's stuff". I felt a little embarrassed. i dont know why he got so mad.

This post showed up on the main page over the post "anyone from Scotland?" causing me to initially read the topic as "I don't understand anyone from Scotland?"

And I was about to reply "I had a friend from Scotland whom I could only chat with online because I couldn't understand a word he said"

I read both thread titles the same way. :) But I love the Scottish burr.
But to the OP, your Uncle probably interpreted your jokes as making fun of your Grandmother, because they were her things and presumably she chose to keep them.

Yea I guess. But the jokes have no connection to her besides they were her stuff. I was really making fun of the way the toymakers made the duck because it looks weird. hmm

Probably he was just overly sensitive b/c of your grandmother's death, meaning your joke was badly timed.
