Am I the only one who feels like no one knows I exist? Even though most of the time I enjoy not being noticed, lately I feel like no matter whet I do people are looking right through me. Everyplace online that I usually post and write lately, its like not a single eyeball lights upon my words.

8O I see you, khaoz!

Of course that may be because I'm generally invisible, myself. :?

Feeling invisible is very common here which is why I think aspies would make great ninjas!
Or something.

Personally I don't really think you exist and that your post is just a figment of my imagination!
Except my imagination doesn't usually spell that well...

I'm invisible when I don't want to be, and visible when I do want to be!

When I'm out in the street, everybody stares at me and notices every move I do. But when it comes to wanting some sort of social contact, either at a party or just something as small as smiling to a stranger in the street, I get ignored.

I don't get it. Why must life contradict?

I find exactly the opposite, I only want social contact online, but people online quickly tire of me and avoid me or disappear. I am either terribly boring or just an a**hole, or a combination of the two. I can communicate in a forum exchange like this, but in direct communication, like chatrooms or PM I am lost. I have no idea how to respond to 99.72% of what is said to me.

Offline, in society, I desire to be ignored and invisible. I feel like Pac-Man trying to move around in public places, with my giant hat, giant sungoggles and ever present earplugs. If there is anyone in front of me I have to stop and face a wall or shelf until they pass me or move on. I cant retreat if someone is behind me I do the same thing.

Same here. I have the same problem with phone calls, and real-life conversations. So I just stay away from rapid fire back-and-forth communication, because it only stresses me out!

As for invisibility – maybe I'm weird but I prefer being invisible, and don't want to be noticed. I've often thought if I could have one superpower, that would be it! 8)

You are not alone with that. When I saw your thread I remembered another one about a similar topic where I have already written something about it. Maybe you are interested in the thread, so here´s a link:

I'm sorry, sometimes I feel that way too. I wrote a thread about it last month. Part of it might be my fault because I'm really quiet sometimes, but I don't think that's the only reason.
