Is this place the best place for support? I've been here since 2008 and I feel like I'm still not being totally honest here. There's so much I want to say but can't. I don't know why but I'm always feeling like I'm wearing a facade and I think it's starting to get to me. I've tried support groups and internet and yet I feel like I have to hide everything. I was wondering if anyone else felt like this. There's some things I've improved on but there's still a lot of issues I'm going through but I still don't know how to vocalize or put them in the kind of words that would either make sense or be relatable.

I am not confident sharing all my issues either, even anonymously.

I'm afraid to share my real issues. I notice when people do share their real ones, they don't get very good feedback. Plus on another forum, a woman shared her real issues and people said she was finding excuses to all her problems just because every time someone gave her a solution to help her out with her bills to help cut back, she always had a reason why she couldn't do that solution. Sadly the thread got deleted as I was reading it.

I've shared my real ones in the past and also didn't get good responses. I'd rather hide them and act happy.

I'm the same way. I'm open about some stuff, but not everything, and not "all the way."

PM'ing might seem a bit more...well, private, or maybe the Members Only forum.

I know that's not really it--I'm rereading this and realizing that...sorry.

Let me say this: I will not judge you, for whatever that may be worth.

Glad you are here. :)

What's that saying about trusting a person but not people?

Yeah in support groups they're called sponsors but even they can't be trusted....

I don't think I've known a live human being who could be trusted except my grandmother who passed away. :(

So true not to mention the backstabbing. It seems no matter how anonymous you are ppl find out eventually.

I've learned the hard way, not to share any real issues, in 2006 and very early 2007. I've shared a really real issue, that has ended a friendship between who was than, my favourite WP member, and myself. A thread about the workings of my septic system. My need for Depends.

As a result, I became very angry, and bitter, turning against my three first loves, which are The Kinks, the 60s and Routemasters. Things that I called the finer things, in life. I became a dark spirited, antisocial punk rocker, who wanted nothing to do, with society.

I'm amazed that I was able to get my life back on track, because I was trapped, in that dark pit of anger and rebellion.

can you say what specific fear is holding you back? there are good and compassionate people here on WP who are burning to help. ignore the noisemakers. if it is a matter of articulating what ails you, can you write whatever you can think of down first, then choose one specific thought and elaborate on that first? that would be a good start. give at least one of us a chance to be helpful.

I think "Members Only" is less public, and there are definitely a few of us here who can be trusted to listen, discuss and share with respect even when things said might be difficult to hear and accept amidst the distracting din of a cafeteria.

leejosepho and auntblabby have some good points.

Along with that, if you want to PM me to talk, like I said, I will not judge you--just listen (read) and do what I can to help.

I mean that.
