Back to Square One
A few days ago you guys suggested that I should do some physical exercise in order to gain more energy and get out of the depression ( http://www.wrongplanet.net/forums-posti ... -f-23.html ). Well I got the message. And even if I didn´t my mom did. She hired a personal trainer but not a regular one but one that has worked with disabled people before. It was all going well. In fact the physical workout was the best thing in my week. He said he wouldn´t push me to do anything and if I progressed slowly he would go slow. I had balance and yoga exercises. He said my balance was good because my concentration was good! LOL aspie thing.
So for one month or so that was all I did as exercise because I didn´t have energy to do anything else. But at least I did something. But two weeks ago BANG! Suddenly I was feeling great. I promised that I would drink vodka to celebrate when my angst disappeared and I felt calm again. This was after I spent two days sleeping! The whole day! I searched in google maps which bus lines I should take to go to therapy instead of take the cab. Also I went for an one hour walk with the dog everyday. OUCH and my knee ached in the weekend but everyone said that was normal! So I had my energy restored the only thing I couldn´t do was to read. I thought that my condtition was finally improving!
Well, then one night when I was taking the meds my mon said "Hey you are not taking the right meds". And she was right! I was taking four pills of 75 mg instead of four of 25 mg. 275 mg instead of 100 mg! LOL. That would explain the extra energy! I told that to my therapist who is also a psychiatrist (not mine) and she said that the extra sleep could be the side effect of Pamelor.
So I call my psychiatrist every week and this week I said that I was great! But then I was back again to 100mg of Pamelor. And today I felt bad again! I went to the movies to watch Stallone´s "The Expendables" (LOL! I liked the movie!) and when I got out of the subway station I had to take a cab to go home because I was felling very tired again. And it is a very short ride from the sub station to my home the cab only costed 3 USD!
I was so agry that I improved and felt bad again! And I told my psychiatrist I was great and he said "good keep this dose" and I am only scheduled to visit him in September! At least I know my condition can be improved!
I´m also tired of taking the meds. I take so many of them and I think it is not safe. But I have to improve before my psychiatrist take the meds off. Some people say they dont´t work but they work for me. My grandmother says they are her gasoline!
Sorry for the long post!
"Ooh, and I burn
Fuel is pumping engines
Burnin' hard, loose and clean
And I burn
Turning my direction
Quench my thirst with gasoline"
"Men of five, still alive through the raging glow
Gone insane from this pain that they surely know"

While taking too much of the medication might have exaggerated the effect of the exercise, I notice that you state that the "physical workout was the best thing in my week" That tells me that the exercise IS helping. If you were not exercising and still took too much of the medication, perhaps you would not have quite as much energy.
So it sounds like the exercise is working. Maybe not as much as you'd like, but you are still better off than you were. Yeah, it can be disappointing to discover that you might not get quite as much benefit as you'd hoped, but you are still getting some benefit. Sometimes it takes some effort to look at the positives in your life, but if you are going to have a realistic outlook you need to accept the good things as well as the bad.
