Well, I'm in a little bit of a down mood at the moment. I would like to cry but my roommate is happily playing video games and I don't want to bring her down. So I'm really trying not to cry because once I let a single tear out, the dam breaks and I bawl like a child. How do you control yourself from crying?

:(

I know it would be easier to do that but I don't want to have my roommate deal with my emotional s**t during the first week of our living together. D:

I don't cry around other people. I just hold onto it until there's no one around and then let loose. I do that *a lot* these days. I've gotten very good at it with practice. The shower is great...nobody walks in.

I wish I could give you advice. All I can say is I hope you feel better soon.

I'm really bad at that. I'll be holding back tears but it's soo obvious by my expression that I'm about to cry. I've run back to my room after class just so I can bawl. D:

I make myself angry. I started doing it in elementary school.

That's how I was in elementary school. That was probably because of the ritalin. The thing is though is that as soon as I'm done being angry, I cry anyway because I feel like I shouldn't have been angry and may have hurt someone else in the process. :(

That's why you never stop being angry. Works for me most of the time. Though it does help that I talk to friends on instant messengers all day.

I remember reading about football coach Dick Vermeil, when he was an assistant coach with the Los Angeles Rams way back in the early 1970s, after a particularly disappointing loss, he cried in the shower. Apparently, several of the players saw, but they respected him and gave him space. And Dick has cried openly from happiness and other strong emotion on a number of occasions, in fact, he's kind of known for it.

(Just guessing, I'd say it's more about being discrete than about being super private)

I prefer to exhaust mine in a timely manner. I figure if someones going to get sick of me they might as well get sick of me today rather than in 6 months.

I guess that's true. I just need more self-control about that kind of stuff. >.>
