I'm having to coordinate my care between 4 different doctors. I have a severe stomach infection
and severe diarrhea. So I had to call my doctor 6 times because I had to keep running to the toilet
and hanging up yes I know I should have gotten it
all done in one call but I have explosive diarrhea. What is the response to diarrhea? CALL THE POLICE. So the police come out
and I tell them I have Diarrhea. They were pissed at doctor fore being an A#$. Called an autism
advocate and doctor lies to her says she didn't call police. Well the police have it on their report
she did(I called and asked for more information about it) and this from
an "expert" on autism yeah right.

Glad the police took your side. That was a bit stupid of your doctor.

What an idiot! Just what did she want the police to do? Arrest you for being ill?

Maybe she was thinking "911 for an ambulance" but "police" came out instead.

my life sucks. I told the police I could show them my antibiotics and proof of the stomach infection(from a different
doctor one of the other four.) Plus I smell bad from having gas which they quickly became aware of.
What was it I had to tell them
1. I passed out from pain
2 Going to talk to other Doctor
3 Should I continue taking my antibiotic
4 Did they get the GI referral
5 Other doctor will call them with information about my labs
6 I just finished talking to the other dr and don't worry I'm going home(I was in really bad shape)
and to let me know of any medication changes

So is it really my fault they didn't give me anything for the diarrhea? Nope and they so easily could have.
Oh and this was after the doctor had a screaming fit about me hiding things.

That doctor needs to get her head examined.

ok, maybe that was a little too mild :P

I'm just wondering Kate, does your phone have caller ID? Or does your doctor know you very well? She may have thought it was a prank call because you were not able to say anything. Still doesn't really excuse the police though. I'd change doctors if I were you.

So would I! This would totally destroy the patient/doctor relationship, as far as I am concerned.

I smell a lawsuit. I would have been so humilated to have to tell the police that I was severely sick and having to go back and fourth to the bathroom.

I dunno who you would complain to about this but you should. This doctor should not be allowed to get away with treating you this way.
Knowing that you were autie she should have shown a little more care in her handling of the situation.
Time and again I see doctors expecting autistic people to handle stressful events such as illness like an nt would.
I dunno what her interpretation of the situation was, but she could have done a damn sight better to help you.
I would be changing doctor at the very least.

I have a different opinion about this situation. Please don't attack me too much ...

You should call the doctor explain and apologize. It is not "normal" to call someone six times in a row and hang up. Yes, you are in pain and panicked. However, it is your responsibility to figure out how to contact the doctor in a manner that does not 1) indicate you are in distress or 2) seem to be harassing her. The doctor did not know what your particular condition and situation was and it seems she called out of concern for you. Police (at least where I live) do not take prank calls so seriously and send someone out to talk to the caller. The way in which you called could indicate you were having some sort of emergency. Every doctor, clinic, etc I have been to state on the answering service/machine that if you are having a medical emergency to call 911. It could have been the answering service that called the police. I don't think she/whomever called because you have autism, they called because it seemed like you needed help but were unable to articulate it, which was the case correct?
