I have to right an essay for my English class, and I'm usually good at these things, but right now, my head's all blocked up. I want to make my essay engaging, intelligent, and funny, but I can't because either I make it too sad, or I just don't right as well as the kids in my class...I can't think of what to do, and I'm upset about it. My brain feels numb, and it feels like nothing will release me from this labyrinth. (I had to go to Google to spell that! I'm stupid, I tell you!) I feel so terrible, and I just desperately want to be smart, but I probably can't...there's nothing I'm really good at either...I just feel so numb and terrible!

I know that feeling well...too well. I encountered it a LOT while writing my Master's thesis. There were days when I thought I'd never get it done.

What is the topic of your essay?

Been there all too often myself. Writers block. I usually just take a break, snack, watch TV, or read and sometimes just pace back and forth NOT thinking of the project. A lot of times something will come to you. Maybe you could use a different format than an essay? Say an imaginary dialog between two people, or between you and yourself? Ask your teacher if this would be acceptable.

Thanks for the help. I wrote the essay, but the kids in my class were bored. XP They don't understand feminism like I do! Although this one kid liked it, and he said I should become president one day. I'm not doing it, it's too much competition and political mudslinging and idiocy. In other words, I hate politics.
