Mistakes in the past

For those of you who are not teenagers. Have you made mistakes when you were a teenager that you regret now in life? Are we aspies more prone to making wrong decisions compared to NTs?

All mistakes are regrettable:




Not necessarily, and the deciding factor there amounts to whether or not we are teachable (humbly willing to learn).

Supposedly the object of mistakes is to learn from them and become better in the end . . . in the ideal NT world. But the real question is what kinds of mistakes are acceptable for learning experiences? Hell, I did everything i could to not make mistakes (terrified to death of them for fear of disappointing parents), so my entire childhood was devoted to school, homework, and play. Nothing outside of that little "box." Did i need drama . . . no, police record . . . no, be a teen father . . . hell no, cause fights . . . nada. The ideal boring life, but at the same time isolated and alone with few people sharing any interests in what I like/enjoy (card/video games, random facts, etc). Now i know that being in the spectrum makes us more likely to prefer a lone lifestyle, but i know some of us can't help but be torn between that and wanting some level of human interaction (beyond immediate family that is).

There have been mistakes I have made in the past and I do not regret it. I just learn from them.

Sure, but don't waste time dwelling on them, work on making your present and future as beautiful as they can be. Delving into the past to learn lessons is okay.



Not really, it just seems so because it's an NT world with NT rules, and we aren't natives, so we have a bunch more stuff to learn.

As a teenager, I made many mistakes. Some I do not regret and some I do very much so. Still, the past is past and it is best to let it go. Examine the mistake, why you made it, what you could have done better; learn from it and move forward.
