As the title says.

2 things to get clear:

1. I can't make the stressors go away.

2. Self harm/substance abuse are NOT OPTIONS. Only looking for safe, healthy ways to relax.

Gardening is a great stress reliever during the warmer months, but you look silly pulling weeds in February around here. You are on the spectrum if you start pulling weeds and don't stop until they are all gone.

I like to build and design stuff, like model airplanes.

Playing simple games like Scrabble on the computer only works if you avoid logging into web sites. There is too much noise on the web for it to be a stress reliever. And then there is the noise of the computer, which could even be a source of stress all by itself.

When we are frazzled, the basic mineral compounds our cells depend on are used up rapidly. As a result, our cells are starving and screaming for attention.

One of the easiest, safest and most effective ways to nourish our cells and build health is by taking biochemic cell salts.

Cell salts are homeopathic preparations of the minerals that are the building blocks of our bodies. They taste sweet and dissolve almost instantly in the mouth or in water.

Cell salts support proper cell function to optimize health and ameliorate physical and emotional symptoms. The effectiveness of cell salts has been proven for over two hundred years. There are health care practioners in Europe who run whole practices with only cell salts.

You can buy cell salts from 800homeopathy.com. If you need a place to start, try the combination called Nervous Tension. http://www.1-800homeopathy.com/cell-sal ... sue-p.html

I am a mother and blog for mothers. I have written a post about cell salts that tells you a bit more. The chart in the post is just as relevant for adults as for kids.
Cell Salts for Aspie Nerves

If you try this, I'd love to hear if they helped.

Long hot shower. Yoga. Massage. Stretching exercises (alone (if you can do it alone) or in a class). I consider the last one the best. Some stretching classes are really good and you get out of the class feeling much better. I also used to make a sequence of stretching exercises alone that my uncle who is a pilates teacher now passed to me but I don´t remember it anymore.

You can't fight something if you don't know what it is.

Can you summarize the main points of the video? It's a bit long.

I think it is important to watch it from start to finish, and then to watch it again to clarify some points. You may notice some points relevant to your own experience.

The video explain "fear" scientifically. Fear is first analyzed from an evolutionary perspective.

Most of the video explains how Worry / Stress / Anxiety are very different, all are analyzed form the functional part of the brain to the very specific experience of each fear in timing, importance, relevance and function. How each kind of fear can be useful or counter-productive.

The speaker is funny and even relaxing to hear, he gives tons of anecdotes and really use the brain mechanisms as the core of the conversation. The last section of the video is a practical exercise of relaxation.

Again, this video is rich of explanations and is largely worth the time twice!

Actually, I've had time to watch half of it, and it's a pretty good video. Lots of stuff I know, but stuff that's worth reinforcing or hearing in a new way. Soo, yeah watch/listen 8)

Thanks for the suggestions.
I am at dialup speed at the moment, I'll watch the video when I'm on a faster connection.

Yoga, running, riding my bike, snowboarding - not in that order. Taking things apart too works for me.

Gardening and building taking/apart stuff are useful for getting your mind out of stressful "thought loops" that result from situations that didn't go well. But, if I'm stressed from too much work/exertion, I'll just take a nap.
