When lots of little things go wrong, I can't function
...or at the very least makes it difficult if not impossible to do so.
So far the list of little annoyances include:
- I have 2 books out from the university library that have gone missing - currently have 30 or so out for my research - and now they've cut off my borrowing privileges unless I find these books, or pay a hefty fee for each;
- A longtime email account was hacked and basically destroyed. I decided to cancel my credit card, which was supposed to come in the mail but hasn't shown up yet;
- My electricity was shut off for failure to pay up, causing a good day of distress and having to cough up a lot of money to get it back on;
- Students are very disengaged with the class I am teaching;
- I don't have the time or ability to devote to help my wife promote the cultural event we are trying to build - no PR skills whatsoever;
- My wife is saying how I've neglected the relationship, how I've neglected the anniversary (the trip didn't count because that was for *another* annivesary, and how I have to buy her an article of clothing etc.;
- My printer ceased to work, and the new one is stuck on "idle" status. I would be able to deal with this minor nuisance if I weren't so distraught with everything else going on!
I wish I had the ability to shrug this stuff off and get on with it...but these little nuisances I find really draining and effect my ability to function with life.
