I feel like I'm going to flunk school this semester.
Well, if you don't care then I couldn't give a dime. There wouldn't be a point, would there?
Anyhow, that's not why I decided to post here. In fact, you do care; you posted it here so someone can help you out. If you really wouldn't care you would not be starting a thread about it. You would just be sitting around doing nothing.
But, since you do care, let's do something about it. First off, are you attending classes? Reading your books? Doing your homework? Going to exams? Turning in papers? Requesting and reading feedback on exams and papers? If not, time to act. Now. Not tomorrow, not after a cup of tea, not after a toilet break (wait, go if you really have to but then come back), just now. If you are reading this then you aren't trying to sleep or doing something important anyway.
So, time to do something about that. Make a list with the important things you need to do and when. Like when your papers and assignments are due, when your exams will be and anything important in between. Then it's time to make a plan. Get your agenda out and plan when you will be studying. Also plan in what you will be doing then. This way you will get a (hopefully realistic) schedule for surviving this semester.
Then the hard part: actually doing the work. I have some problems doing that myself, I know what it's like. But that's not the point, you are the one flunking here. So I won't discuss how I am doing.
Anyway, you have a nice starting time since you have listed when you will be starting your objectives for today (or tomorrow, look at your schedule since I don't know). Set your cooking timer, alarm clock, watch or whatever for at least 30 minutes in which you will be going to really do something. Don't get off that chair before that timer runs out. Thirty minutes of work should work, and when you get the hang of it you can make it longer.
Don't forget to include time for relaxation. You can't work for three hours straight, remember that. Take a break, and also set your timer. Ten to fifteen minutes would be fine. When it goes off, time to get back to work...
So, here we are fifteen minutes after I started typing this thing. I've invested this time in you because I think you can survive this semester. This is about all I can do for you at this point. The rest is up to you since I can't make you. If you want to do this, you can. If you don't, I have just wasted my time. You will have to be serious about this, if you are not nobody can help you. And I know you are serious because you started this thread and you have read my post all the way to here.
So, to sum it up:
1) you do care
2) it's time to do something about it
3) that time is now
4) that is 'now' as in 'right now' and not in five minutes
5) if I'm willing to do something for you while I don't know you, you sure as heck can do something about the problem
6) if you need help, just ask (post here, pm, your pick). But before you do that, you need to put some effort into this. There are lots of people here ready to help, after you have tried your hardest and are serious about it. If you aren't, others simply can't help you.
7) I believe you can make this happen
8) it's up to you, time to start acting is now (see point 4)
Good luck with that, I will be back tomorrow to check on you.
Edited for smiley purposes as my 8) would transform itself into a smiley and I don't like that in my neat little list.
hey
ive been finding the last couple of years at uni have been really hard for me, i figured it's because it has lost it's importance
has something happened in your life that has made your school work take a back seat?
perhaps it is time to think and remind yourself about why your work is so important, and get stuck into it
id offer more advice, but i withdrew my last two semesters in a row
so im not really much help
