Going off on tangents about my interests to girlfriend...

So I have an obsession with movies... And a lot of times something will get brought or, or maybe I'm watching a movie and before I even realize it I'm going off on a tangent/rant with interesting (to me) factoids about the movie, or actors or other things... Most people get really annoyed with it, mainly because they just want to watch a movie and don't care about any of that stuff but it just happens before I even realize it and it's almost impossible for me to control going off about this stuff... My main issue with this is with my girlfriend. She claims it doesn't bother her at all, and that she finds it interesting and that she likes it cause it shows I am intelligent and unique. And I'm pretty sure she means it, but it just makes me feel so annoying and such a terrible person that I can't control this urge to just go off about that kind of stuff... And I'm really afraid that my girlfriend will get upset with this after a while... I just want to find someway to stop it, but nothing I try works... I just felt like ranting about this...

I do this too.
My boyfriend literally puts his hand over my mouth if I talk too much about it.
But then I try to bite it and it's okay.

Originally though I told him I might keep going off on tangents like that so he'd know, and I told him I wouldn't be offended if he told me straight, so he did and it wasn't a problem.
