It's a fact that there's never a medicine that can cure the asperger or autistic people. But I do believe one thing - there will come a day when someone will have a unique ans special formula of training to help build up their social and interacting problems.
Just like in sales, if not for motivational and sales books that millions have read and acted on, there might not be much great salesmen today.

No. I don't want to get rid of my Aspergers, because that is who I am!

I don't want to change my mind, literally speaking.

I don't wish for a cure. I'm not sick, or broken. I like the unique qualities that I have. I want to be the way that God created me to me, not the way that society wishes for me to be. God gave me autism. Society wants to cure it out of me. I choose God over society. I don't feel that world would be the same without people with autism, and the unique ways that they view the world. NTs view the world in a superficial manner. People on the spectrum often view the world with wonder, except for the few who do want a cure. Since I feel that I'm male instead of female, I have to say that I enjoy being a Wonderboy. Take the time to listen to the song, if you wish. The more contempt people on the spectrum are who I like to call Wonderboys and Wondergirls. Pardon me...I'm a Kinks Fan. 8)

I totally agree with you. I feel the same way.

I often wish that those seeking a cure for autism or Aspergers should... die!

I remember taking Lyrica for 3 days against my anxiety, and I quickly stopped taking it, because I felt I was becoming another person.

I want to get rid of my anxiety, but NOT through drugs! I also hate getting drunk, I hate the effects of alcohol and so do I dislike the "plastic-like effects of drugs interacting with my brain".

We need flesh and blood not plastic and metal!

I would rather commit a painful suicide than taking just one more pill that change my personality!! !

I know we were born this way and yes I am also proud to be unique, but really, at the very worst times in life when everything is so unfair, have you not wished that you could be cured at those moments?

I would like to learn how to interact better with people, but i don't want to be ''cured'' from the way i experience the world. We aspies see the world with wonder and i don't want to loose that.

- Don't misunderstand what I said, I'm not talking about any cure or that we must be out of our uniqueness, but about the specialized training that may help us to build up the only thing we aspies and autistics lack - socializing.

If I kept all the benefits and only lost the problems, sure.

I am different, that dose not mean i am any better or any worse than other people, that dose not mean i am sick, it simply mean i was built according to different specifications.
Asperger's is as much a part of who i am as by left food, and for good or bad i like my foot.

If there is a medication that cures AS, then I will have a social obligation to take it. So basically I have a choice between either losing the core of what makes me me, or being shunned and scorned by society. I do not wish for a cure for asperger's syndrome any more than I want a cure for homosexuality.

No I don't want a cure for my AS. I would like a cure for other people's meanness, intolerance and ignorance though.

Why is that? Because a portion of society doesn't understand you? That's akin to the arguments for curing homosexuality.
