I worked on my online trig class ALL of summer, and the end of 2010.
A straight A student from 10th grade, up until 12th.
I let one B creep in...but it was a weighted class.
I let another creep in a few years ago, and I swore it would never happen again.
I worked on my classes, and relied on my natural smarts.
I didn't make it.
Not only did I not make it, I didn't make it by JUST a little.
LESS THAN A FREAKIN PERCENT.
I am PISSED!! !! !
Lame.
I'm probably not going to make it into the college of my dreams (BYU).
I'll end up having to go to an outrageously priced state school, or an outdated, small 4-year school for which pretty much ANYONE can get a scholarship to.
So yea,
My dreams...flushed down the toilet.
I blame it on my period, making me sick and all.
RIGHT in the middle of the test.
Yea.
Right in the MIDDLE.
I could have had an A.
But I didn't and now, my hope, is ruined.
Anyways, hope you didn't find this rant to depressing.

I'm sorry to hear you will not be able to get into your dream college. Personally (no offense) I was homeschooled and never understood the whole "Good college thing" At this time I'm doing a Community college 2 year then moving onto the instate college in Orlando (not some out of state college) I'm sticking to instate FLORIDA! Sure from looking I'm undecided on Graduate fields (Sure I'm interested in Psychology but after Psychology Bachelor it branches into many subfields for graduate school. I would HOPE! my work speaks for itself whether A's or B's or whatever the grade The work should be YOU and should speak for itself. With Aspieness (if you are like me) You are obsessive with classwork and such this will set you apart from your fellow classmates in college. (I did a research paper over the 2 week holiday break once LOL!). I then had students giving me stares etc. Also I advise research your field on your OWN since from my experience (sure only one experience) but I later found out the Psychology teacher didn't know how to answer my questions so was avoiding me so she didn't have to answer them. Sure this might of been an isolated incident (I'll see how my new college experience goes). Just be careful. Hopefully college goes well for you.

I'm really sorry about that. I think if you only have that one B, it will be ok. schools don't just look at your GPA; they look at the classes you took. They know trig is harder than art, and they will consider that. And remember to be a well rounded applicant (volunteer, etc).

I actually got into my dream college...but I've made two C's my first semester there and the only C I've ever made was in trig, actually.

Last I checked state schools in your home state are usually cheap - not outrageously priced.

It's too late now, but if your period was really that bad, you could have told the teacher about it, and asked to clean yourself up and finish the test using a little extra time. If the teacher refused, you could claim gender discrimination (boys don't have periods).

The difficulty of your courses means just as much as your actual grades.
