I haven't been stood up and I think it's rude to flake on people so I wouldn't ever stand somebody up... but I have thought about it. And his excuse was lame.

A friend used to have a self-help book for hetero men to pick up women. There was this part in it that told guys not to mind if a woman flakes and stands them up. That sometimes women just do this for whatever reason. Because I think it's rude and inexcusable to stand somebody up, I rejected this advice as completely unrealistic and an awful thing to tell someone. Yet, I find myself referencing this advice more and more. I see that the wisdom isn't to excuse rude behavior as a normal womanly trait but just to let guys know that they don't have to take it personally.

So, I say to you, you don't have to take it personally. He's flakey and that's him. You can choose whether or not you'd like to stay on the hook to see if you can still meet up with him. I think 20 can be a little young if he's immature but 10 years age difference really isn't much. You won't hear any judgment from me, anyway.

its craigslist...all there is scammers and 60 year old guys looking for blowies from or to anyone. i would be more pissed if it happened on a more "sophisicated" site like okcupid or pof or match, but craigslist i would carry a gun and meet in public always if i ever got it on from a craigslist. but his excuse was lame and probably just a busy body who forgot about the date.
