Does every one feel that way about their parents sometimes?

I guess you could ask yourself if human beings are nasty to one another from time to time and have your answer.
However, I think a lot of parents are so used to their power they forget how far a little respect and manners can get you.
I used to tell my son what to do. Now I ask him and say "please" and wonder of wonders, he returns the favor. Life is better. :)

I think so. My mom once spanked me so hard my skin was red it stung. Another time she forced me to take a cold shower and started hitting me when I was refusing to get in. There was no hot water left because everyone else used it up when they showered so when it was my turn, there was no warm water left and I decided forget my shower but mom forced me to take a cold one. I think it's child abuse but it's not like she did it all the time.

I think I am asking the wrong question.

"Are most parent this way?" is the better question.

No, I don't think most parents are this way naturally but for some they may bring baggage from how they were treated as a child, or others may be living in an abusive marriage and trying to do what they can with their children. I personally have adapted and changed how I parent my children and I am always looking for new understanding of how to better approach issues and how to relate to my son as we both have AS. I have watched many who do not change though to overcome their own challenges (and I have had many) and may even blame all the issues on their children.

I am by no means trying to make excuses for parents who do not behave because there are none. And I don't know what circumstances are really around your question.

Hahaha. They aren't that way naturally, eh? The stresses of life just change them against their will into the monsters that they... have always been?

People are going to tell you that being abused is something that you're just going to have to put up with. If you want to just put up with it, go ahead. Every parent abuses their children, all the time. Pay attention to what they do. You'll see.

Well someone has to discipline the children who are exposed to so much filth...

My mum was sure nasty to me when Pete Quaife passed away. I didn't need to be stated the obvious. I needed her support. Wait until Mick Avory passes away. I'll be making it very clear on Facebook and in an E-Mail that I need her support and if she can't give it to me, that's too bad. Think of all the times I've showed her sympathy. And they say that people with autism have no empathy. That's the biggest crock in my book.

Disciplining children has nothing to do with being "nasty" or abusive.

Each situation should be judged individually, as kids can see an action they disagree with as "nasty", even if it's not, but sadly too many parents try to justify abusive actions as doing the best for their children and teaching them discipline.

My Mother never was. However, my Father and Stepfather have both been nasty to me, especially the Father.

Parents aren't perfect. I love my son more than anyone or anything else in the whole wide world, and I know there have been times when I've been nasty to him.

When it happens I catch myself on and do apologise though.

I know. I've been singing the same song for almost 8 months. I must sound like a broken record, by now.

My stepdad has beaten me several times. Once with a 2X4, but that was after I turned 18. I remember one night I fought with him. I put him on the ground.
