Not Working Out

I'm not too sure what's going on but it just seems nothing is working out these days...trying to find a job is getting me down and my parents (mostly mom) is thinking I have a problem because I can't get a job. I get yelled at everyday it seems but it's not for a lack of trying...I don't get it, I'm making an effort and nothing satisfies my mom. Anyway for example my friend, Rick who had the same issue of getting a job, got one at Office Max and he told me the day he got an interview to apply and I did and got an interview finally...I got called back for a 2nd one and Rick told me that that was a good sign and while he was hired right away. When I checked in the manager still gave me an unsure answer making me come to the conclusion that the same thing has happened again to me...close but so far away. I've had horrible timing with some of these applications, etc... It's just getting me down and I feel like quitting...no matter what I do, I can't get a job. Along with that my mom is, I feel, unfairly treating me.

Along with that is my confidence isn't very high and I can NOT bring myself to ask a girl at my college out. I never really did because I wasn't popular/picked on in high school. I can count about 8 girls I was friendly with and 1 in particular that I think liked me. Of course I saw her in line the other day in the cafe and it was a little bit of a quick awkward convo. I'm really frustrated at my inability to befriend a girl.

As well as those issues, I still have been rejected into state college (my dream) despite having a 3.7 GPA...I was rejected in HS with a 91 GPA and one kid I knew that was lazy got in with an 82 GPA w/o any sports. He simply got in and despite working hard, I didn't, almost like those 4 years were wasted.

I don't even know what I want to do anymore, Accounting -> Business -> and now my sister is saying I should do Computer Science. I'm going to get my AS in Business Admin. but to be honest I have no clue what type of job I will get when I get out of school.

Oh on top of that the driver side window on my car got off the track and flew off of my car on the highway on my way home with the temp. being in the single digits (live in NY)

So I don't know anymore, it seems the harder I try the worse I do, it seems when I have hope of finally getting a job, it's like it taunts me. I just had to get this off my chest

Don't fret too much about getting rejected from the university. Check you see that you have fulfilled all of their transfer requirements and if so, apply again. You have a better chance of getting in the second time around.

When I first applied to universities, I was accepted to most but not the one I ultimately decided I wanted to go to. I revoked my certificate of acceptance to the second choice at the last minute and decided to re-apply in the fall. I used that year to do some things I had been wanting to do.

Most of the people who hire for retail chains are idiots. I never really felt bad about being rejected by them....just frustrated that they were idiots.

About this girl...

1. If you don't try to talk to her, will you regret this years from now?
2. If you did talk to her and she rejected you,would the magnitude of your devastation be greater than the magnitude of your joy if she accepted you?

I think the key to talking to girls you like is to try to talk to them before you like them so much that you would be absolutely devastated if they didn't reciprocate the feelings.
