I just started taking Prozac a few days ago for my anxiety. I'm still on a small dosage (5mg daily) so I haven't noticed much yet besides nausea and trouble sleeping at night.

Any tips for the nausea, or advice in general?

I am now on day four of prozac and its funny; I take it when I first wake up (usually about 9.30 am), feel sick, miserbale and despressed for most of the day. then around 5-6pm I start to feel much better, can eat as I don't feel sick, lot less deespressed and can actually do a few things for myself.

I slept fine on it for the first 3 nights but was a bit fidety last night. Still its only day 4, got to give it a chance to work. Was on Mitazpine for 4 days but it made me so sleepy I just couldn't funtion.

Anyone else had a simular experience?

I've been on it for about 6 years :). The meds I had before made me feel sick (unfortunately, I can't remember the name, sorry), so Fluoxetine was a blessed relief! Only side effect I've ever had is forgetfulness. Seriously. I can't hold anything in my head.

Herbally speaking, I've always found adding sage and rosemary to meals helps with nausea and digestive problems. Might help?

I tried it for about 3 and a half or 4 weeks once and it was horrible........I ended up throwing out the rest of the pills because at the moment I did not care if it would be harmful to immedietly stop taking them I just wanted it out of my system. It made me feel nauseous and a bit weird, I got the whole hyper and drowsy at the same time effect to. And yeah the day I stopped taking them I got all over emotional and paranoid which was rather embarrasing because then my dads family who I was staying with got to see me totally freak out.......uhh I was close to killing myself that day. But yeah maybe that works for some people but I found it to be pretty much the worst drug experiance I've ever had.

I just stopped prozac, it didn't really seem to be doing very much. I started it for my turbo PMS but it didn't do anything for that and made me feel only a little better when I wasn't ragging

I've since been put on Pristiq and the jury is only starting to trickle in but so far so good I think. I feel stable. pretty blah (though there are external contributing factors) but stable

Update - I ended up in hospitalised at the weekend due to exsteame anietxy and agataion. They think it could have been a bad reaction to the prozac and it does say that in some people it can make things worse. Have been taken off it now and after initally feeling rough. I'm now much better.

I know some people its been a reaaly help to but for me it was anything but.
