i was just on the bus and ''Waiting for the End'' by Linkin Park came on my ipod (shuffle). i was on the same bus riding on the same street listening to the same song as when i found out my mom was dead almost 5 months ago. i burst into tears on the bus. i am getting better with time but i wish i could have avoided that bomb.

That's probably not a bad idea if it is a trigger for bad emotions.

Maybe it was meant to be. That is highly co-incidental.

Sometimes emotional pain needs lancing like a boil. It feels better once it's out. It's hard when it goes in though.

Sorry you were so shocked though, how do you feel now?

yeah it threw me into a messed up time loop. it was about an hour earlier in the day, so the outside lighting and weather were different. it was a strange sensation. i think i did need it in a way, maybe.

do you think there's a timeline to expect when i will no longer randomly start crying at a stimulus?

I have a song like that and it gives me a good cry whenever it comes up, but I do not use my iPod very often.

I think it varies a lot from person to person. 5 months is not that long any way, I would just try to avoid the triggers if you can...

Sorry you're having a hard time again, would a virtual aspie hug help?

Sorry you're having a hard time again,

thank you. perhaps i will maybe adjust things like taking a new bus. and i have deleted that song.

i felt like 5 months was long enough, and was trying to force myself to be better, if that makes sense.

Yes. But when dealing with something like a family member dying, we can attach it to anything.. Songs, Places, Hospitals, Months. I don't think anything makes it easier and any reminder can be painful.

Sorry, don't know if that helped or not. Was more a practical analysis and made me think of when my aunt passed away. Sorry for what you are going through.

no, it was helpful, really. thank you. i'm not sobbing now or anything - just reflective on how best to handle things, so i'm fine and everything i think (well, not fine. you know what i mean. i think i don't express emotion very clearly in my posts.).
