I've been hanging out against my will with this papist, half-Mex Jesus freak for about three years. Hated every minute of it. I was practically forced into being friends with him because we're "similar". What kind of BS is that? This... thing, who is purported to be an Aspie, is nothing more than an idiotic waste of time. I wish I could whoop his choir boy ass back over the border. ret*d.

My parents and his. Everyone around me.

any plans to go to college/move away in the next few years? If so, maybe just put up with him for a little longer.

Otherwise, just put your foot down and tell them that you dislike him and don't want to hang out anymore, and then (polite as possible), find excuses to give him.

Alternatively, and maybe more honestly, next time he starts bible-bashing or whatever, get mad at him and tell him directly you want nothing to do with him anymore and storm out.

You need a rock, seven feet of electrical cord rom a lamp with the plug end intact and an inch stripped off the lamp end, some strong acid and an oatmeal cookie. That is the item list for not having craptastic friends.

Usually it's the so-called "Jesus freak" who is the closed minded, intolerant one in a situation. I'm really confused about what makes him a crappy friend because I haven't read anything to support that claim in your words. You have nothing in common, I get that, but if he's not ramming his beliefs down your throat and he genuinely values your company, I'm not understanding why you have so much stress over socializing specifically with him. Does this frustration really have anything to do with him or is it more about resentment that your parents are pressuring you to socialize with him? Can you please elaborate a little more so I can understand what you're saying and feeling?

Tell your parents you want nothing to do with him.

Mine listened when the child and adolescent health centre was trying to force me into being friends with this Aspergers lesbian at school who was really weird when I was 13 or 14. Yeah I'd be friends with her now but kid that age don't want to be seen with anyone "uncool".

Seriously - I frown on friendship forcing. Stand your ground.

Those are pretty strong words. Perhaps you can find someone more your type to be friends with. I had a friend who was the opposite and it didn't work out for me. That ex-friend of mine will be going to hell.

The kids at my school are complete wastes of time. They use and abuse me, they spread rumors behind my back and... *sigh*

The guy is... a ditz. He lapse into non-sequitur constantly, mispronounces and misspells the most common words, hardly shows any emotion... the list goes on.
