My imagination is overwhelming me as of late, and it's causing significant stress to me.

Part of it is fixating on my mental list of characters and their world, and the other part of it is obsessively imaging breaking the bones of certain parts of me like my fingers or my leg or something similar. It's made all the worst because I have a very tactile imagination- I feel everything that I imagine much more time-wise and in intensity than the most imaginative person that I know, I'm pretty sure.

I've been resisting the urge the past couple of weeks just to crawl under my desk in class because I can't stand being around others. I like everyone in my class greatly, but I want to just retreat to my earphones sometimes. Thankfully a lot of the teachers let me when there is independent work being done.

I can't explain it really well- I'm just being overwhelmed.

Edit: Sorry if I've been too whiny lately- things have been very difficult lately.

Your imagination is a very powerful thing.

If you can imagine your leg breaking, surely you can imagine your body being strong and healthy? I'm sure that if you consciously choose what to use your imagination for, you will feel much better using it to imagine positive things. Then it will soon become an unconscious habit.

Whatever you want to imagine...but nothing that will leave you feeling bad.

Try looking up 'law of attraction' if your interested. (google)

These imagination leaps, at least broken body parts wise are involuntary, and I have tried pushing my attention on to different things, like my art over the past week or so to counteract it. I am now starting to counteract it by positive imagining, but I'm highly doubtful, but I'll try.

Also, by being able to "simulate" physical pain like that- it's not as full blown because I've never broken a bone before, surprisingly. It's more of a shade of that sort of pain based off of observation- just enough to make me highly uncomfortable and basically have a horrible sensory overload. I am investigating OCD as well since it is possible that this could be part of it.

Thank you for your suggestions, not a big fan of "The Law of Attractions", though.

You need to learn to shift your awareness from your head into your physical body. You have to do physical things that are fun to you, for example throwing a frisbee around, biking, jogging, rolling around in the grass, or anything really.
