I didn't have a very good afternoon at Toastmasters today. We had a debate today and the debate was about something that I had no knowledge about. The two other people on my debate team were using complicated words and vocabulary that I didn't understand, the guy on my team said that my input was childish. I just couldn't take it, anymore. I started having one of my emotional meltdowns, so I left the room and went to a separate part of the clubhouse to get the tears out. I know that some of you tougher people might think that I was being a big baby, but this is The Haven and I needed to vent.

It's tough being the big, sensitive one. I was the big, sensitive one my whole life. That's why I identify with Mick, because he's also the big, sensitive one.

I drank a bit of cough syrup to ease the after pain. I hope that I live through the night.

I am so, so sorry that happened to you. :( I don't think it's fair that they called you childish for not understand the words they used. I know you are hurting, but next time, come to me instead of drinking cough syrup. You know you can tell me anything and I will comfort you and give you the best advice I can.

I hope that you live through the night as well, because you're one of the best people I have ever spoken with online and I would be so heartbroken if I lost you.

I agree with IdahoRose, and I think it is admirable that you managed to get yourself away from the situation, I usually have the meltdown there before realising it is happening... There is nothing wrong with being sensitive anyway. (((((((hugs)))))))

so-called smart people can be pretty cold-blooded at times. if i were the OP, i wouldn't take it personally, because if they knew any better they would have behaved better towards you.

Sorry to hear that CR, some people can only seem to feel good about themselves if they put others down :x I hope you feel better now, you did great by not engaging them, it's not worth it, you know.

Hugs :)

i'm so sorry that you had a hard time at Toastmasters. people can be very mean, and it is really terrible that anyone would be so nasty to my friend the Mick Avory look-alike. i care about you and don't want to see you get hurt by nastiness. send me a PM anytime when you are struggling, please, instead of turning to the cough syrup.

(((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))
