Lately I've been feeling unneeded guilt and self-worth. It's like, I feel as if I'm worthless because I can't do the things I am expected and because people still fail to understand me. It triggers anxiety and my thoughts start racing... and lately, its caused me to feel like self-injury, such as pinching my skin or often times I try to hit myself or my wrists to get some pain.

My emotions are always spiraling when I get like this. It's been happening a lot lately and I've been getting too many emotional overloads.

Any suggestions on how to make this go away?

Is there some activity or interest you can throw yourself into? When I don't have any specific project or activity to focus on, I start to focus on my own perceived failings. With nothing to distract me, I obsess on them more and more. But if I have some goal, even if it's not especially significant, I don't think about what others might be thinking about me as much.

When all you can do is think about the things you feel bad about, they grow in significance, far beyond what is appropriate. If you can consume your attention in some interesting project, you won't have time to worry and dwell on the things that upset you.

Good luck.

Agreed about throwing yourself into activities. Something else that always helps me, however chilche'd it sounds, is to find a 'safe place' in my mind that I can always go to - for me I imagine playing Bioshock, and try and calm myself down a bit. Depending on what works best for you, you might be the sort of person who it helps to take it day by day, or think about your super long-term goals.
But sweetheart (sorry, it's a habit to use terms of endearment!! !), you're not worthless. You just have different ways of working, although I know how easy it is to feel that way.

But *many many warm hugs* (if accepted). I understand how you feel, and I know it's not nice. I hope things get better for you.

Yeah... I'm going to start thinking of writing a christmas story project about me and my boyfriend. Something really cute but the names will be changed of course. It's going to be called, "Christmas comes to Tokyo".

I feel the same way a lot, so I really don't know what to say... if I did I wouldn't feel as lousy as I do.

the only thing that I can think of is distract yourself with a hobby or activity.

Like everyone else says, in times like these, it helps to focus on something else.
