I often have specific ideas on how I would like to do a certain activity or project. If I'm in a situation where I don't have the money or resources to do something the way I want to do it then the whole thing is off.
In certain situations I can be an All Or Nothing person.
This. Plus, I hate situations whose outcomes are likely to be nebulous.
As for concrete things like housework, I think it's executive dysfunction. I like to see things clean, but I don't always know a way to get there, and even then the result is "nebulous". I have so much stuff to go into so little a space, and the other denizens in my house then "chaotize" what I've done. (They're 5 and 7, so it's mostly okay)
