Last night, I dreamt that I was in a two story house, and I was walking towards a stair case. I was within ten feet, when suddenly my sister climbed over the railing and fell to the first storey. She survived the fall to the bottom. Suddenly I came to a gravel pit, and she jumped into that as well.

I don't know what is wrong with me, because when I woke up, the dream did not bother me all that much. Now this sister has attempted suicide before when she was in the depths of postpartum depression. I know I have been through so much with this little sister that I hate her, but I don't want to see her die. My escape from her would just be to move away as far as possible.

I just hope that my dream isn't a sign of a decadent mind.

No, don't worry! It is possible to train yourself to control your dreams (sort of) but I wouldn't read much into a random one.

There's loads of theories about, but I like the one that says they're the memory of the past being churned up as the mind tries to make sense of it all.

As for not being upset, maybe your brain was aware enough to realise the event for what it was; just a dream.

Nah, I would doubt that or else you could not even ask the question.

Whenever I have dreams like that, I logically just excuse myself from then and then work on conscious thoughts and efforts to see how much I might be able to effect some kind of change in the next one.

It sounds like your subconscious is trying to work out all the stress and anxiety you feel about your sister's depression and suicide attempt. It's actually quite the opposite of you wishing her death. It shows that you care about her and you feel helpless to save her. She just keeps jumping away from you and everyone toward death and there's no reason for it. Unfortunately, there's no solution for your problem in the dream. There's rarely ever a happily ever after with these types of dreams. But it shows that you're suppressing a lot of anxiety about her condition. You need to deal with this or you'll build up all this negative energy into something that hurts you.

blood sugar regulation problems can cause bad dreams. Try to eat a before you go to bed. Should help. A good example would be a boiled egg and a fruit. Protein+carb+fat.
