are you s'posed to carry on with life, when the only reason you wont kill yourself is because you worry you'll leave a small handful of people with a lifelong bad memory

i've really really really had enough

even started writing poems:|

You could not kill yourself for yourselves. This is obvious but you both sound really depressed. You are both lovely people. You are both funny and smart and day-brightening and it seems like you'd be able to enjoy the world using these selves of yours if you felt better.

:( I know that feeling too well. Honestly the reason you shouldnt is because you would eliminate quite of bit of future happiness that you may not be able to see or understand right now.

I know that, far too well. That is one of the major problems I personally have. Knowing it wont get btter if nothing is done but at the same time not doing anything about it

:( What is up? Or isn't there a reason? I've been severely depressed for absolutely no reason in the past.

onestepbeyond, honestly, I think you need to find someone IRL or online to talk to about this. I know talking will not fix this but it may feel as if a weight has been lifted off your shoulders. Atleast that is how it works for me in a similar situation.

Ugh, poetry: that's a bad sign...

You have to understand that life is just...life.

Today you're worried that you won't get what you want, tomorrow you'll worry about losing what you have - it's all the same!

Think about it.

And I really hope you feel better soon, the world's a better place with people like you in it... :)

i don't have anybody and it doesn't make me feel better anyway. trying in vain to explain myself, which is painful and exhausting, only to be told 'you need help' or 'it's just a phase' and asked if i am feeling better then next day.

While we talked. Did I ever do something like that to you? If I recall right I did not because I know what you're going through since I'm dealing with almost the same crap. I know cliches won't help. I think it doesn't make you feel better because of the attitude you have over it.

Hello. I'm sad to hear that you are feeling so down. I don't really know you very well, but from what I have seen you seem like a lovely person.

I have had problems with depression for a very long time, and you are right that it doesn't get better for everyone. But, what I have found, is that the way to get through it is take each day as it comes. Appreciate the little things. Don't listen to bollocks about what your life should be like, what you should be doing at each age, what constitutes success. Our world is warped about these things. Appreciate the things that make you feel good, such as music, or your interests, art or books, nature, birdsong, flowers, the sunshine or the rain. Whatever small things that bring a brightness to your day, those are the things that are worth it.

Because this world tells you that it is career, or education, or money, or power, or success that is important. This is crap. It's finding little moments of joy, little moments of happiness and contentment, that's what its about. Decide what is a good life on your terms, not what others dictate for you. This is a crazy world, but there is a lot of beauty in it, find what is beautiful to you. This is the only way I have survived.

From what I have gathered of you so far, you are a caring person, you are loving, you have great taste in music, you are witty, you have people on WP that care about you. So I hope you start to feel brighter soon, and you find things of value in the world.
