Anyone else been diagnosed with Bipolar 2? I have just been diagnosed by my psychiatrist with it. She said that if I wasn't AS she would have diagnosed me with it straight off the bat as soon as I walked into her office, but we had several weeks of appointments and me diary keeping to be sure it wasn't just AS symptoms. Now she is pretty much certain I do have it. So this is not a misdiagnosis (although I secretly hoped it might be). I have started taking Lithium and am praying it will help get the current rapid cycling episode under control (normally I go through several weeks of intense productivity and energy, and several months of severe depression, interspersed with some normal functioning, in a cyclic pattern). I am worried about the weight gain and possible thyroid damage but there is nothing I can do about this.
I was hoping if anyone else could share some of their experiences, or just say hi, or even just talk about it with me. This is all new to me and I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and would like some support.
