Since I became a teenager I've been flying off the handle at nothing. What causes this? I have polycystic ovaries and that clearly doesn't help, but I'm up and down like a yoyo, and there must be something causing it!

I wasn't like this as a child. My OCD and anxiety kicked in at 12.

I want to fix this because I make a lot of online enemies because of it.

Do you know where it comes from internally or what kinds of things seem to stimulate or accompany its onset?

Not sure what you mean.

Other examples that don't involve people are I get really mad and upset if something goes wrong. The pizza place charged me twice because their website is broken and I got really really mad.

The 0800 number for the courier wouldn't work and I started yelling and burst into tears.

As far as people go, if I think someone is attacking me I will put my back right up, and stuff they do annoys me like walking too slowly hogging the sidewalk and leeching my subscribers off youtube.

So... at that point which is it.... do you feel like life is picking you up and slamming you for what you're mind's not strong at (ie. changing direction), is it a sense of vulnerability? Or do you take too much ownership of it and feel like its you're fault for being out of sync with the world at those points?

I think the closer you can come to getting your head around the core of 'why' the closer you'll be to an answer of some type.

I've been like that sense I was a baby; I think it was related to being overly sensitive about things & turns into Aspie meltdowns. I've gotten a lot better about it the last few years but I still have isome problems. I think I'm a little better because I'm less frustrated about life nowadays because there isn't that much stress, I'm more aware of what some of my triggers are & when I need to relax, & I also have more-self control maybe because I'm older. I wish I had more advice for you. I should probably consider some of the advice that will be offered in this thread to

The whole pizza thing, I know several people in my life who would've snapped for less. Working at a restaurant i've learned people complain over smaller things. Getting a slightly less amount of lettuce in a salad, being charged an extra 50 cents for a bag of chips etc.

About the 0800 number thing, were you going through a lot that particular week? Sometimes small things are enough to cause a breakdown when dealing with bigger issues.

That's kind of what I was asking about in my second post, IMO it seems like when particular things get to you enough to lose it for a second its not the 'thing' itself so much as what it reminds you of or the greater significance it has, an effect kind of similar to the proverbial 'getting hit in the face with stamps'. Like if you have a great deal of difficulty already keeping pace with the world, its already on a different algorhythm, and then you're stepping in landmines created by other people's lax, which is lax you're never given back - I could see that stacking pretty easily.

Just thinking, I know you're in a different situation but maybe you could offer some insight to the person on this thread? Sort of how you feel when you go off the handle and what you've found helps?
