Well maybe I had already gotten all my sadness out of me from the first song.

Plus baby animals aren't sad, they are cute. Also, I've never had a pet aside from a gerbil that lived a long and good life.

Finally, I listen more to rock/alternative when I'm sad, and songs that have words that apply to me...this sounded like a slow sad song and I couldn't understand the words.

Going Solo - The Kinks

To me, that song signifies when Mick Avory was forced to leave the band in 1984 when Dave didn't want anything to do with him anymore. It has a double meaning. The other meaning is that it's about a 19 year old girl who goes on vacation by herself for the first time.
