Teens, apartments and flashbacks.

I've been having flashbacks about my high school years over the past three days. Teens have been coming into my apartment building and both the laundry room and the common room have been trashed and vandalized so far. The same teens came into my building, broke their way through the glass to get access to the fire extinguishers and emptying them all through the hallways on Thursday night. The fire alarm went off twice. There were also more teenagers buzzing the room numbers of various tenants hoping that somebody would let them in, so that they could do more damage. There were three more teens who showed up at the main entrance way and the one who was on his bike took a look at me and said in an ignorant voice, "Hi, I'm a ret*d!" and I reported those teens at the office. The manager and the staff are talking about security guards. The guy who picked me up was listening to rap music which reminds me of high school and I had my biggest flashback of all time. All that caused me to have a meltdown at the worse time and place. At work and at the beginning of my shift.

I'm sorry to hear that is happening to you. I hope they get those security guards. It's not right for these teens to come do all of that crazy stuff.

I'm so sorry to hear about this, CockneyRebel. I understand how horrible it is to have teenagers insult and intimidate you. A security guard might work, but in the short term, couldn't all of the people in the building band together and bluntly tell these teens to 'F off'? It's the only language they understand, and if they see that no-one in the building is going to take anymore of their s**t, they should hopefully back-off?

Thank you to all of your support. There is a way that we can band together and get rid of those kids. I'm going to type a notice to put on the cork board in the entrance lounge.
