My parents have always been strongly against drinking, as long as I've been alive. They tend to give me BS for the fact I drink.
Earlier this evening I'm backing out of my garage, and forgot that my best friend was parked right behind me. Normally the driveway is clear, so it's become second nature to me to just back out of the garage without concern. Instead, I bump right into his car. There wasn't any damage on my car that I noticed, and his car only got a minor surface mark on the bumper - no big deal. My parents meanwhile come running outside and blow a gasket at me. They immediately make comments about my drinking, and tell me to either stay home or have my friend (who has very little familiarity with this area) drive.
It gets to the point where I'm so fuming at my mother, I get right up in her face as she's talking to me. My father then starts coming closer, telling me that he's more than willing to beat me into the driveway if I made a move.
I had two beers over the previous couple of hours, and walked out of the house with a six pack to split between me, my brother, and some friends while having wings. But nope, I'm some no good drunk that'll end up crashing my car into innocent people and spend the night in lockup. I'm too irresponsible just because I have a few beers on the weekend, not even get drunk or buzzed or anything.
They always treat me as if I'm becoming some alcoholic like my no good degenerate cousin (who unlike me actually has numerous DUI's, and the constant intent to drink for the sake of getting hammered.)
And as I'm leaving, she's staring at me the whole time. Just watching.
I have no idea what's going to happen this weekend, but it won't be pretty. I'm sure there will be another blowup or two. I don't know what to do...
