I just I should message you if I have good sense of humor! I'm definitely no Jim Carrey in the mask, but I do have sense of humor.
You seem really down to earth and honest. I like that about you.

OMG! You want to be an MSW! I'm an LLP and as you must already know we are huge rivals!! After looking at your profile that is what stands out to me the most...that and apparently you are really tall. I also see that you didn't list an occupation, so are you a stripper lesbian trapped in a man's body? Please don't tell me you are unemployed and living in your parent's basement. It would be better if you were a stripper. So really, what do you do?

Some sort of psychologist? Licensed limited psychologist? I'm betting that's what it means, but Google isn't giving that answer in the first couple of pages. I wouldn't mind getting an MA in psychology, either-- all I know is I want to be some sort of psychotherapist.
Boy, you really cut to the chase. Yes, I am unemployed (but looking for work!) but I don't live in my parents' basement.

O.K., so I got the "licensed" and "limited" reversed. I found it on an acronym page.

Oh dear God, I can't believe that you had to look that up! I thought anybody in the business had checked out all of the options. There's LLP, LPC, LMFT, and MSW. Of course I think LLP is the best. And I recently had a RAC and turned that into a CAADC. I am licensed to provide substance abuse services, mental health services, testing, therapy, really a lot of different things. I love my job and meeting new people every day. But if you catch me on a bad day, I might say I can't listen to one more person complain about their life and refuse to do anything to change it. I have been working in this field for almost 10 years and I do still hear new and surprising things.
So, unemployed, that's tough. It's hard to find a job right now. What type of work do you do?

Well, I'm not IN the business yet. Let's see, LPC is Licensed Professional Counselor, LMFT is Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I don't know what RAC is registered addiction counselor, and CAADC is Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I had to look them up, but some I knew before.
I wanted to be a biologist since early in high school and have a biology degree. Over the years I've realized that I have an intense curiosity about the living world, but I don't have a desire to really DO it. (I'd rather just learn about it) I can see myself doing mental health stuff.
I'm one of those people who could be a "peer support" or "consumer advocate". Let's just say that what makes me eligible to be peer support is also one reason for for my not having a job right now. I AM looking, trying different things.

You seem like a nice person, but it seems like we are in really different places in life. Good luck, I hope you find what you are looking for!

Just now!
Sorry to see your response. You seem like a nice person to at least be friends with.

I'm never going to get a relationship ![]()
Sorry to hear about that.
If it's any consolation, I got rejected like that all the time, and when I didn't get rejected I was never interested in the person I actually got a date with.
It was nice of her to send you a "not interested" message though, most people (myself included) simply stop sending any.
That's one of the many reasons I gave up on online dating.
Hope you feel better soon...
missed you!
I did like her. Don't dislike her now. I strangely felt pretty good about the interaction we had. But, I don't think it will be more than a short-term low.
And, more in response to Grisha:
I have made two good friends (not really more than that) on OkCupid, so it's worth it.
And, OneStepBeyond, sweetie, you're nice.
