During the past week I suddenly started to smell something like canned sardines, oily and fishy. This is happening 10 or 12 times a day for a few minutes.
I have looked on line and I know I am not schizophrenic or have epilepsy.
It is possibly related to allergies.

Does anyone here have any knowledge about phantosmia?

I think temporal lobe epilepsy can cause that. There may other things that can cause it, too, though.

Smelling things that aren't there is something that people suffering from MS have also reported. The most frequent phantom smell in MS is something burning.
