This afternoon I went out to a doctor's appointment. After I was done I was walking back home and had to cross this intersection where the traffic is awful , several lanes wide and they have lights but nothing for pedestrians. It was raining and grey. The green light comes on and as I started crossing some idiot almost ran me over with his car. He drove as if he were drunk. I screamed and for a few seconds just stood there in the middle of the road. When I finally look up I see the driver with a stupid grin on his ugly face and his teeth were yellow and pointed!! ! I continued on my way and was almost home when I see a vehicle that I thought resembled the one that nearly killed me and then I heard a blood-curdling but mocking scream.
The person who did this is a vicious, filthy coward, knowing I can't do anything because they're gone in a second with their car. I wonder if they tried to scare me on purpose! Of course I didn't get a look at their license plate since I was too busy trying not to collapse in the middle of the road. In fact, the traffic where I live is always bad and it's not even a big city. When I first moved here years ago I was terrified of crossing the roads and taking the bus was often a nightmare. One of my former social workers used to laugh at me and call me a "country girl". :x My whole week has been a mess. One of my two cats ran away from home, and a Halloween craft project I was working on got ruined after just one little mistake, becoming a waste of time and money. I'm going to a costume dance this Friday and I'm wondering what else will go wrong... maybe I'll get really sick and won't be able to go. :(

drivers have it hard too ;)

This morning at a roundabout I was in the lane to go right, the lorry was in the lane to go straight on... yeah, you can see where this is going, if my foot wasn't straight on the break in time I certainly wouldn't have made it to work this morning ;) worst part is that was one of about 3 near misses this morning just due to other idiot drivers, although I'm hardly calling myself the best driver in the world :P

PS: just want to clarify that I'm not implying anything negative against your post, just saying unfortunately whether you're on foot or behind the wheel, unfortunately we all suffer the idiocy of some people not responsible enough to use a car.

Pff, what a mother****ing a**hole. This is how it is for pedestrians and cyclists.

Just an hour ago, I was biking at a crosswalk and I had the walk signal, and this truck pulls up and almost bumps me. He's not looking so I throw up my arm and say "HEY" like watch where you're going. Oh, the little baby got mad at me and paralleled me while hollering something unintelligible. Oh the poor little fella, all he did was almost run me over illegally. Drunk ass belligerent nation, I swear.

i can't count the number of times evil drivers have yahoo'ed out their windows at me after scaring the bejeezus out of me by leaning on their horns as they come up just behind me while i'm biking on the side of the road. but to be fair, as a driver i also see a lot of idiot bikers who comport themselves on the roadways as though there were no cars around, ignoring traffic signals and such. i can't count the number of times i almost ran them over as they crossed the road on my green light, coming like a flash from around the corner and oblivious to the red light on their side. there oughta be a law :x

Cyclists are subject to the same traffic laws as vehicles. If they cross on a red, they can be stopped. If they blow through a light and it leads to accident and/or injury, they can be held accountable.

But I cross reds all the time if nobody's around.

Personaly.... if they almost hit me, I might let it go. If they rediculed me, and acted like a pure bully, I'd make their life hell if it's the last thing I do.

But that's just my zero tolerance for A-holes me.

I cross reds regularly, taking traffic into account. I always come at least to a rolling stop first, though.
