Hi,
This may seem a fairly trivial argument at the moment but I can't think of anything to say.
My two friends at school (who are AS) have the latest issue of a games magazine and so do I, and there is a competition to win a games console. I have entered it about 10 times, but I have already preordered the console from a local shop. (So I can get it on launch day.) My friend said that if I win, then he would offer £80 less for it than if it was in a shop.
He often argues by saying things like "But you would have some moiney for yourself" and "We would be both saving money".
I can't really decide what to do here, as I have said no, but he still has to logically argue until he persuades me to accept the offer for if I did win the competition. He is trying to get it cheaper just because I am his friend and he started this competition syndicate (where all three of us would find competitions and enter them, sell the prize and split the money), which I didn't really approve of, as he is trying to get money out of me that he can't really find any competitions.
He doesn't have very much internet access and therefore keeps trying to take advantage of the fact that I have a decent internet connection so that he could get something off me cheaper. This outrages me. If I did win one and kept it, he would say that I am being selfish.
I have a little white lie to say that my uncle offered me more money for it which I can use to stop the argument. If that doesn't work, what else can I say? Comments will be helpful.
I need something to say to him that isn't too impolite but I want to decline gently.
