History is like a slow-motion reel of film. You never see yourself as a member of the stream that flows through history until you find yourself bitten in the ass by the past, your present or a shattered future. Then history means everything, but it has already passed into the books. Too little, too late.

Regret is like poison willingly taken. A drop of laudanum at a time we kill ourselves because the past is irreversible and the future unforeseen. The present could be the start of something or the end of what we know. We can ride the torrent of historical regret, or do as most and conform to situational atrophy.

Blessed be the seekers, they are always reaching and running forward, bottle of poison untouched.

I like to think that "actual seekers" do review their pasts, do have regrets, and just try not to make similar mistakes in the future. Then they keep going forward.

You have a very insightful, interesting and abstract way of writing. In my interpretation, it is expressing to me that we shouldn't be ashamed of our past or mistakes, even a negative experience can have a positive outcome. Running forward also means never fixating on your failures or weaknesses and letting them define you but moving on and always growing as a person.
